On Feb. 11 and 12, the Corporate Olympic Torch will pass through Vancouver streets prior to the Opening Ceremonies. When it passes through your 'hood, get out on the streets and give it the 'welcome' it deserves!!!

The Olympic torch will be coming through our neighbourhood on the morning of February 12th, straight up Commercial Drive from Hastings to 1st Ave. The 2010 Commercial Drive Torch Welcoming Committee invites everyone to greet the torch and speak their minds about the corporate circus that's starving our schools, health care, and social services and turning our neighbourhoods into militarized zones. Let's show VANOC and their Coca-Cola corporate spectacle what community really looks like. Celebrate our strength, creativity, and diversity. Bring signs, puppets, noisemakers, instruments. Play some street hockey!
