A Strategy of Tension: London Bombings II

Another Day in the Empire - Kurt Nimmo - London was shaken for a second time in two weeks today by bombings aimed at the city's transportation infrastructure. Unlike the blasts that killed an estimated 54 persons on July 7th, no serious casualties were reported. Meanwhile, across the Atlantic as the Londoners were reliving the anxieties of the first attack, politicians in America were debating the ratification of the so-called "Patriot Act II." {lex}

More ?incidents? in London.

?This incident has shaken me out completely and I am afraid to say I have lost my calm,? a poster on the BBC site admits.
?This cant be happening to us, not again,? writes another.

?Only one person was reported wounded, but the explosions during the lunch hour caused major disruption in the city and were hauntingly similar to the July 7 bombings in which 52 people and four suicide attackers were killed,? reports the Associated Press.

?Police said Thursday there were small explosions at Warren Street, Oval and Shepherd?s Bush stations and an incident was reported on a bus in east London,? explains CNN.

?According to the police, people were panicking,? reports Pravda. ?One witness said he had been told by another subway passenger that a rucksack had exploded on a train.? If this keeps up the people of Britain will start throwing Muslims in the Thames.

I believe this is precisely the state of mind those who are responsible for seven seven and the latest ?incidents? are looking for. A ?strategy of tension? designed to engender as much fear and backlash as possible.

Something Fishy about Hassan Mustafa Osama Nasr
Wednesday July 20th 2005, 8:45 pm

Is it possible Hassan Mustafa Osama Nasr had something to do with the London bombings?

Nasr?s name should ring a bell?he was abducted by the CIA, according to the Italians, on the streets of Milan on February 17, 2003. You may also remember that Nasr, according to the Chicago Tribune, quoting former senior Albanian intelligence agents, was a valued informant for the CIA in 1995 when he was an exile living in Albania (see Why did the CIA abduct an Egyptian cleric from the streets of Milan?).

?Conversation intercepts, viewed by Reuters, show Nasr as more than a Muslim cleric in Milan. Prosecutors say he had contact with militants from Germany, Egypt and elsewhere. They point to computer files filled with jihad recruiting propaganda.?

Nasr told a Tunisian suspect, in an April 7, 2002 conversation inside a Milan mosque, that a ?brother in London? would direct attacks (see Did CIA undermine Italy?s war on terror?).

Is it possible Nasr had something to do with the early planning stages of the London bombings and his disappearance had more to do with making sure he did not talk and less to do with a supposed attempt to bring him back into the CIA?s fold as an informant, as claimed in the media?
