On Feb. 11 and 12, the Corporate Olympic Torch will pass through
Vancouver streets prior to the Opening Ceremonies. When it passes
through your 'hood, get out on the streets and give it the 'welcome' it
deserves!!!

No Olympic Torch on Commercial Drive

The Olympic torch will be coming through our neighbourhood on the morning
of February 12th, straight up Commercial Drive from Hastings to 1st Ave.
The 2010 Commercial Drive Torch Welcoming Committee invites everyone to
greet the torch and speak their minds about the corporate circus that's
starving our schools, health care, and social services and turning our
neighbourhoods into militarized zones. Let's show VANOC and their
Coca-Cola corporate spectacle what community really looks like. Celebrate
our strength, creativity, and diversity. Bring signs, puppets,
noisemakers, instruments. Play some street hockey!
3) Protest the Torch at UBC!
Thursday, Feb. 11 between 6-7pm. Social justice groups on UBC campus
invite Olympic resisters to rally at the Old Bus Loop (corner of
University Boulevard and East Mall near the Student Union Building).
